She Believed She Could…

She believed she could, and so she did printable poster

And so she did.  That’s basically the story behind this website.  And it also happens to be one of my favorite quotes.

I’ve always loved designing things, especially things that can be printed on paper.  Even as a small child, I was always fascinated with paper and saved just about every little piece of paper I could get my hands on.  As you can imagine, I would drive my mom nuts sometimes, because she kept finding paper everywhere.  As I grew older, I also developed an interest in designing my own cards, posters, en just about everything else that can be printed.

Last year, in 2014, I decided to start selling some of my printables and design resources on Etsy.  I wanted to share my designs with the rest of the world and maybe, just maybe, turn my hobby into something that could help me earn a little bit of extra money.  But I soon realized that I had many different types of things that I liked to design, and inspirational typography printables were a nice group of products that really deserved their own shop.  “The Typography Shop” was born!

I’m really a creative person at heart, so it should come as no surprise that I’m also pretty passionate about other types of home decoration, do-it-yourself projects, and pretty much anything that is lifestyle related.  I started an Instagram account and within days I found a pretty cool group of people who seemed to have the same or similar interests, and I started to believe that, maybe, this might be something that I would like to explore even further.

That’s when I started thinking about creating a website where I would be able to showcase my designs, but blog about other things that interest me as well.  A place where I could share my thoughts, freebies, do-it-yourself projects… you name it.  Anyway, to make a long story short: in about two weeks, I reached a milestone of 100 followers on Instagram. and I wanted to celebrate and do something in return by designing a nice freebie that people can download.  But that freebie needed a home where people would be able to find it, so I decided to take the proverbial bull by the horns and actually create the website I had been thinking about for a while.

So here we are:!  But I want it to be about much more than just my inspirational typography printables, so don’t let the name mislead you.  It’s still a bit empty at the time I am writing this, but you have to start somewhere, right?

Oh, and about that freebie…  I’ll be creating a second post later today, so you can check it out and download it.  I hope you’ll like it!
